INDIVIDUAL THERAPY AND LPC SUPERVISION FOR RESIDENTS OF HOUSTON AND THROUGHOUT TEXAS

Frequently Asked Questions

  • My current self-pay fee for a 53-minute individual therapy session is $200.

I also offer a limited number of reduced fee slots.

  • I am currently in-network in Texas with Cigna/Evernorth, Aetna, United Healthcare/Optum, Oscar Health Plan, Medicare, and in the process of getting paneled with additional insurers.

If you have another insurance provider, you may be able to get reimbursed for partial session costs if you have out-of-network benefits. I am happy to provide a Superbill (monthly receipt) to submit to your insurance for possible out-of-network reimbursement.

  • Private pay (paying out of pocket) is beneficial to you in that it prioritizes your care and confidentiality. When you self-pay, no claims are filed with your health insurance company. This means no mental health diagnosis or treatment records are transmitted to your insurer, increasing privacy. Insurance companies also require a diagnosis at the initial session, and make determinations regarding treatment, length of care, and session coverage based on this diagnosis, which becomes a part of your permanent medical record and may impact future employment. Self-paying removes limitations in treatment and ensures confidentiality.

  • We can meet in-person in my office in Houston, or virtually online via a HIPAA-compliant telehealth platform.

  • Therapy is a collaborative journey. During therapy sessions, we process emotions, identify what’s working and what isn’t, develop strategies for change, and set achievable goals.

I do not give advice, but help to equip you with the tools to achieve lasting change.

  • The 15-minute consultation is an informal conversation to determine if we're a good match for each other. Finding a therapist can be overwhelming, so I want to make sure your needs align with my experience to ensure you find the best support for your journey.

If I'm not the right fit, I'll try to connect you with a more suitable therapist from my professional network.

  • The length of therapy varies for each individual, depending on their goals, the issues they want to address, and their progress. Some may see improvement in a few sessions, while others may benefit from ongoing therapy over a longer period of time.

It is not my intention to keep you in therapy indefinitely. Together, we will work to equip you with the tools and insights needed to navigate life's challenges on your own and to thrive outside of therapy.

  • I am not a medical doctor and cannot prescribe any medications. If you are seeking medication services, I can provide referrals for other providers who do prescribe medications.
